What Is HIKO?

HIKO is a non-surgical nose thread lift that uses absorbable PDO (Polydioxanone) threads to improve the shape and definition of the nose without surgical incisions. Treatment planning considers nasal height, tip projection, the nasolabial angle, and overall facial proportions to achieve natural-looking results.

How Does HIKO Work?

PDO threads are strategically inserted into the nose to provide structural support and refine the nasal contour. As the threads are gradually absorbed by the body, they may also promote collagen remodeling around the treated area, helping maintain tissue support over time.

What Is the Difference Between HIKO and Super HIKO?

The primary difference lies in the number of PDO threads used and the overall treatment design. The most appropriate option is selected based on nasal anatomy, skin thickness, desired projection, and individual aesthetic goals.

Can HIKO Be Combined with Hyaluronic Acid Fillers?

Yes. In selected cases, hyaluronic acid fillers may be combined with HIKO to further refine the nasal bridge, improve contour transitions, or enhance overall symmetry. The treatment plan is individualized according to the patient's anatomy.

Why Is Personalized Nose Design Important?

Successful non-surgical nose contouring involves more than increasing nasal height. Careful evaluation of nasal projection, tip rotation, the nasolabial angle, skin thickness, and facial balance is essential to achieving natural-looking and proportionate results.

FAQ

01

What is HIKO?

HIKO is a non-surgical nose thread lift that uses absorbable PDO threads to improve nasal contour, enhance structural support, and refine the bridge and tip without surgical incisions.

02

What is the difference between HIKO and Super HIKO?

The two treatments differ primarily in the number of PDO threads used and the treatment design. The appropriate option depends on nasal anatomy, skin thickness, and the desired aesthetic outcome.

03

Can HIKO be performed without fillers?

Yes. HIKO can be performed using PDO threads alone. In some cases, hyaluronic acid fillers may also be recommended to further refine the nasal contour or improve overall symmetry.

04

How is HIKO different from a nose filler?

HIKO improves nasal contour by providing structural support with absorbable PDO threads, while hyaluronic acid fillers add volume to reshape specific areas. Depending on the patient's anatomy, either treatment—or a combination of both—may be appropriate.

05

How long do the results last?

Longevity varies depending on the number of threads used, tissue characteristics, and individual healing response. While PDO threads are gradually absorbed over several months, improvements may persist longer because of tissue remodeling. Individual results vary.

06

Can I receive HIKO if I have previously undergone rhinoplasty?

Possibly. Patients with a history of rhinoplasty require careful assessment of the existing nasal structure before determining whether HIKO is appropriate.

07

Can I return to normal activities immediately after treatment?

Most patients can resume normal daily activities on the same day. Mild swelling, bruising, tenderness, or temporary discomfort may occur during the initial healing period.

Precautions

Avoid pressing, rubbing, or applying significant pressure to the nose during the initial healing period.
Avoid alcohol consumption and smoking for approximately 2–3 days whenever possible.
Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot baths, and strenuous exercise for approximately 2–3 days after treatment.
Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, or mild discomfort may occur and generally improves as healing progresses.
Avoid wearing heavy glasses or placing prolonged pressure on the nose until your medical provider advises that it is safe to do so.
Contact your medical provider immediately if you experience increasing pain, significant swelling, skin discoloration, thread exposure, signs of infection, or other unusual symptoms.
